MedTech Cluster Alliance DA-CH

Tuttlingen – “Medical technology advanced”: Cluster organisations, networks and institutions from Germany, Austria and Switzerland are striving for closer transnational cooperation. As part of the 2nd virtual MedtecLIVE & SUMMIT, the MedTech Cluster Alliance DA-CH presented itself and its plans to the public for the first time.
One of their common goals is to improve the national and international competitiveness and visibility of their medical technology players and, in view of global competition, to initiate and coordinate joint strategies and activities. Because the current pandemic also shows one thing: Global challenges can only be solved together. The European medical technology industry can be a role model here, make a significant contribution and thus strengthen the entire European economic area. “Each partner has individual experience, resources, contacts and skills. If we bring them together and use them together, great things can come of it,” says Britta Norwat, who was present at the kick-off for MedicalMountains GmbH

The companies CleanControlling Medical GmbH, MARIS Healthcare GmbH and Mentalis Health GmbH for Germany, VIE Systems GmbH, Flex Ltd., BHS Technologies GmbH and the Swiss Niutec AG for Austria presented themselves as representatives of the very diverse cluster and network initiatives of the three Alliance countries . Those responsible reported first-hand about their previous experiences and support in cross-border cooperation, but also formulated their wishes and needs for the members of the cluster alliance. The diversity is also impressively reflected in the companies: It ranges from global players with many years of experience in international business to SMEs and startups that want to take the first steps towards market development in the DACH region and are looking for suitable partners .

"The Alliance means a win-win for everyone," the partners are certain. "With this alliance, the hitherto sporadic and rather loose cooperation in the German-speaking medtech region will be deepened and placed on a stable basis." Because the cluster and network managers know their members and are well networked, suitable partners can be found quickly and individually and achieve common goals. The "MedTech Alliance DA-CH - Medizintechnik weitergeDACHt" is currently still an informal association from the three German-speaking countries. That is about to change. An official Letter of Intent (LOI) is planned for the near future. The cooperation agreement envisages a joint representation of strategy and interests to the outside world, as well as an intensive exchange of experiences, best practices and trends. A central concern is, among other things, the bringing together of companies with companies, research partners and investors. There are many ideas for the further development of the Cluster Alliance DA-CH.
