The KLS Martin Group donates 10,000 euros to the Tuttlingen food bank

The group of companies does without the Christmas present for customers and business partners and supports the food bank in Tuttlingen with a donation of 10,000 euros this year.

Everyone should have enough to eat - that's exactly what the Tuttlingen food bank is there for. It provides customers with high-quality, tested food all year round - and at an affordable price. Especially in times of the corona pandemic, the Ukraine war and the resulting inflation, the food bank is an important contact point and constant for socially disadvantaged citizens.

“The number of customers in the food bank has doubled within the last six months. Currently, around 170 needy people come to the Tuttlingen food bank every afternoon for shopping. Our logistical effort has increased enormously and with it the costs that have to be covered. That is why we are very happy and grateful for the generous donation from the KLS Martin Group. It helps us to continue to be able to take good care of all customers and not have to turn anyone away," says Jürgen Hau, Managing Director of the district and district diaconal office.

“Despite the international crises and bad circumstances, the KLS Martin Group was able to close the 2022 financial year successfully. As a family business, it is very important to us to pass some of this on locally to the citizens of the Tuttlingen area. We could immediately identify with the principles of the Tafelladen - sustainability, humanity and social responsibility. Because a lot of food that is actually still good is thrown away. On the other hand, there are people who have too little to eat because they cannot afford to go to the supermarket. The food bank brings these two imbalances together and thus makes an important contribution that we would like to support with our donation," says Christian Leibinger.
