Awarding of the Aesculap Prize for an excellent thesis

Congratulations Aneka Laura Frietsch! We warmly congratulate you on receiving an award for an excellent final thesis and the associated Aesculap Prize.

Last year, Aneka wrote her master's thesis at our location in Mühlheim on the research topic "In vitro analysis of the degradation kinetics of additively manufactured, bioabsorbable implants for thoracic surgery" and was honored by Furtwangen University for her special achievement.

Aesculap AG annually honors graduates who have worked on particularly innovative, industry-relevant topics in their theses.

The research topic of Aneka's work is very complex - generally speaking, she has studied implants that dissolve in the body after a certain period of time and how they do so. Exciting, right?

But Aneka's contact with resorbable implants didn't end with her master's thesis. She can continue to use the knowledge she has gained as a developer for bioimplants in the Implants Biomaterials department. Today, in addition to the development and construction of implants, her tasks also include looking after the systems for implant production and optimizing production processes in this area.
